BakinBrownies Releases New Album, "Blend" - 3rd Record from Austin-Based Rock Group

Austin, Texas, October, 2004 - BakinBrownies recently released their third studio album, "Blend." The new record takes the listener on an audio journey from country to funk, showcasing the band's musicianship while feeding the soul a mix of rock, folk and blues.

"Each song makes a statement of real emotion and expression," said Kelly Robinson, who provides the band's vocals and bass. "The tracks combine singer/songwriter technique with a wide range of styles and influences."

While each track stands on its own, together their flavors compliment each other to create a listening adventure.

Bakin' Brownies have always had a fun, rock-yet-groovy vibe. Great musicianship, too, but that goes without saying. But on the new album "Blend", the band seems to have achieved a new level of songwriting. Tasteful arrangements, yet with a no-frills quality, the songs will speak to the average guy & girl. My favorites are "Foolish Hope", "Pockets", and "Dig Deep".

Bakin Brownies are old friends to SoundBoard

They were one of the first Austin bands chosen for our 2003 Austin CD compilation CD,
All You Can Eat, with their tasty ode to Van Morrison, "Van Said". Kelly Robinson's Southern-tinged rock plays for a wide swath of listeners. Their newly released CD, Blend, is certainly their finest effort to date. This CD presents a journeyman band casting a weary eye on modern love and humanity. My personal favorite track is "Dig Deep" which not only plumbs the depth of Skynyrd and the Allmans, but drifts off into spacey, dream-like territory, before bringing it all back home. Live, the Brownies can jam with the best and now they show they can shine in the studio.
